Reason the Citizen wrote and recorded World Hunger Volume One, his first official mixtape, in the spring and summer of 2010. The musical style of this particular project differed heavily from previous releases to fit the contemporary mixtape formula. It contains examples of various individual genres not often approached by this normally underground emcee, giving it a much more “radio friendly” appeal than past works. Since its official release in the fall of 2010, its been downloaded digitally over 500 times and physically distributed more than a 1000 copies nationwide.

Reason the Citizen’s second official release Broke For Free, was his first project under Denver based independent collective Fameless Entertainment. Written and recorded in late 2008 through the summer of 2009, this album reflects heavily on the financial hardships of being an independent and unemployed artist. Released in the fall of 2009, and including production from TactiK, Satyre, T-Mack, Kid Nice and as well as Reason the Citizen himself, this album quickly became one of his most popular releases to date. Featuring the likes of DJ Bizkid, Joanna Rubio, and long time friends Tacs and Concept, this project has seen copies distributed all over the country. With only 200 officially pressed copies in circulation, Broke For Free is a rare find as a physical disc, but is still available digitally on iTunes and other major music downloading sites.
